The magnificent ruined palace where Mary Queen of Scots was born, set beside Linlithgow Loch. Children can explore the great hall, spiral stairs and courtyard fountain, and the loch-side park next door is ideal for a run-around afterwards.
Winter hours (1 October-31 March): daily 10am-4pm, last entry 45 minutes before close. Summer: daily 9.30am-5pm. Closed 25-26 December and 1-2 January. Not fully accessible upstairs; visitor dogs outdoors only.
