The great curved glasshouse at Glasgow Botanic Gardens, filled with tree ferns and marble statues. Warm, free and a reliable refuge on a wet afternoon.
Glasshouses open 10am-4pm in winter and 10am-6pm in summer (winter start date to be confirmed); the grounds are open 7am to dusk all year. Free entry. Dogs on leads in the gardens but not allowed in the glasshouses.
