The pink sandstone castle in Dumfriesshire is impressive, but for families the draw is the adventure playground, woodland trails and cycle hire in the grounds. Easy to spend a full day here.
Gardens and playground open daily 9.30am-4.30pm until 31 October 2026; winter dates not yet published. Walks and trails open all year (£2.50 parking). Larchwood Cabin Café by the playground. Seasonal hours may vary, so please check before you travel.
